Because most of the cultivated plants are salt-sensitive glycophytes. Salt negatively effects the crop production worldwide. I created an account to post this.Salinity is the major environmental stress source that restricts on agricultural productivity and sustainability in arid and semiarid regions by a reduction in the germination rate and a delay in the initiation of germination and subsequent seedling establishment. TBH, where I think this might be really cool would be to make the tops of some of the mountains snow area if they are high enough to simulate generally how biomes tend to work in real life. Start a new game with the newly created world and enjoy the biomic diversity! Install the mod paste-binned above if you are using transitional areas like my biomes.png file Replace the biomes.png with the attached, or something you created I apologize if I'm meandering a bit off-topic, but I think there may be a few others here as unhappy with the random gen biomes as I am. In any case, the result is no flickering between spectrums when crossing the transitional areas (which I always felt was a bit jarring even in vanilla - particularly when flying.) I added a few lines to essentially make all the biomes use Pine Forest, though if you like things to be broodier, you could always switch to something darker. Toad's version removed the fog and super dark skies from Burnt Forest and Wasteland, swapping in the snow biome's spectrum (blue-ish light). This creates a small problem with flashing between two different spectrums as you move across the transitional areas, which I solved by modifying a version of Toad's Biomefix. Next, using, after I was happy with the general areas of the biomes, I made Transitional Biomes using 50% fill of two different biomes. Or do you think I should just use one of the 8k?Ĭontinuing my experiments, I found some new fun ways to play around with this biome replacement.įirst, I added back in some burnt forest, which doesn't ever seem to random gen with this version. These are some great seeds, thanks! Would you be able to make a few for the 6k map size as well? I find the 8k to be a bit big for a solo player. She has all the pitches you need to be successful in college. “I know she will work hard to be well prepared. “Gannon got a special player in Katie,” Nealer said. She struck out just six times in 72 plate appearances.Īrmstrong said she will miss working with her catchers - Gabby Britton (2021) and Bella Stewart the past two years - and will also miss the bus rides, the bonding off the field and the wins and big moments between the white lines.Īs she gets ready to begin her collegiate career, she said she’s also excited for what the future holds for the Burrell team, which returns six starters and has other young players set to contend for open opportunities. 377 average (23 for 61) and added six doubles and 16 runs batted in. What might get overshadowed by her pitching prowess is the way Armstrong also swung the bat this season. Nealer said the team also will miss her leadership. After the Juniata game, their players and coaches commented that they hadn’t seen a pitcher like that, and they had a very good pitcher as well.” “She was definitely one of the best in the WPIAL the past three seasons. “Katie was a rock for us, probably one of the best pitchers to ever play at Burrell,” Burrell coach Rock Nealer said. Her freshman year showed much potential when she struck out 17 batters in a scrimmage game against Shaler before the sports world shut down. Who knows where that career-strikeout total would be if her freshman season in 2020 wasn’t taken away because of the covid pandemic? She racked up 63 strikeouts in 33 postseason innings. She delivered a season-best 18 punchouts in a one-hit shutout of Moore Catholic (N.Y.) in Myrtle Beach in early April.Īrmstrong then struck out 16 while scattering three hits in a 5-1 WPIAL quarterfinal victory over Mohawk which clinched the PIAA playoff berth. She fanned 10 or more 17 times, and had three nine-strikeout games. “I also pitched with confidence because I knew I had such a great defense behind me making plays.”Īrmstrong walked just 24 batters and struck out 269, giving her 689 strikeouts for her three-year career. “I just kept working on all my pitches, and every game I felt I got a little better and stronger each time,” said Armstrong, who threw every pitch for Burrell this season and ended up with a 1.21 earned-run average (21 earned runs in 131 innings). Her numbers in the circle and at the plate tell a well-rounded story, and the ending to that story is her repeat selection as the Valley News Dispatch Softball Player of the Year. It was another standout season for the Gannon commit who helped lead the Bucs to a third-place finish in WPIAL Class 3A and a trip to states for the second year in a row after an eight-year hiatus. In the next round, Juniata shut out Burrell’s section foe and WPIAL champion Avonworth, 6-0. The one run Juniata scored that day was unearned. She and her Burrell softball teammates battled District 6 champion Juniata in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs.Īrmstrong surrendered just three hits and two walks while striking out 11 in a 1-0 loss to the eventual PIAA-runner-up Indians. Katie Armstrong capped her high school career June 5 in the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania. 2023 Valley News Dispatch Softball All-Stars Winwood, 69, essentially skipped adolescence as a teen rock child prodigy. Shortly afterwards, Winwood was afflicted with peritonitis and had to stop touring. The Santa Monica show was one of the few Traffic concerts ever recorded on film and it was the last Traffic jam of that year. The legendary jam band was touring in support of its 1971 album, “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys,” which regularly shows up on lists of the greatest albums of all time. I didn’t know it was historic until preparing to interview Winwood before his concert Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Traffic, featuring singer-multi-instrumentalist Steve Winwood, played the second major rock concert I ever attended in 1972 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Over the next few years, tours and membership of the group came and went until they finally called it quits in 1974, with Steve Winwood in particular, launching a successful solo career.Watch Video: Listen: Steve Winwood's new live version of 'Higher Love' In November 1971, Traffic released The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, which was a Top 10 American album but did not chart in the UK the LP is also notable for its die-cut cover. The group further expanded in 1971 with drummer Jim Gordon of Derek and the Dominos and percussionist Rebop Kwaku Baah. Traffic went on to expand its lineup late in 1970, adding Winwood's former Blind Faith bandmate Ric Grech on bass. Winwood then formed the supergroup Blind Faith with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker, which lasted less than a year, recording one album and undertaking one US tour.Īfter the break-up of Blind Faith in 1969, Winwood began working on a solo recording, bringing in Wood and Capaldi to contribute, and the project eventually turned into a new Traffic album, John Barleycorn Must Die, their most successful album yet. His departure went unexplained at the time, even to Capaldi and Wood. The band was dissolved by Winwood's leaving in early 1969. During 1968 Winwood and Wood often played with Jimi Hendrix, and they both appear on The Jimi Hendrix Experience's 1968 double album Electric Ladyland, as did an uncredited Mason. The band toured the US as a trio in late 1968, which led to the following year's release of Traffic's next album, Last Exit, one side of which was recorded live. Mason also cited discomfort with the Traffic lifestyle. Winwood, Wood, and Capaldi wanted to take the group in a different direction, opting for a folk/blues style rather than their earlier psychedelic/eclectic rock sound, while Mason was oriented towards psychedelic pop. Released in 1968, it included the original version of Mason's "Feelin' Alright", which was later recorded with great success by Joe Cocker. Fantasy was released, but rejoined for a few months of 1968, long enough to contribute to a slim majority of the songs on their second album, Traffic. Mason left the group due to artistic differences just after Mr. Fantasy, produced by Jimmy Miller, and like the singles, was a hit in the UK but not as big elsewhere, although it did reach number 88 in the US. The band's line-up varied from this point until they disbanded again in 1974. Traffic disbanded in 1969, during which time Winwood joined Blind Faith, then reunited in 1970 to release the critically acclaimed album John Barleycorn Must Die. Their first three singles were "Paper Sun", "Hole in My Shoe", and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush". They began as a psychedelic rock group and diversified their sound through the use of instruments such as keyboards like the Mellotron and harpsichord, sitar, and various reed instruments, and by incorporating jazz and improvisational techniques in their music. Traffic was an English rock band, formed in Birmingham, in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. But the balance feels less like compromise than agreement-it's a damn good beer, and should fare well among West Coast nativists and Vermont separatists alike. At a mere 6 percent ABV, it's almost a pale, while packing a big-for-Great-Notion 60 IBUs. And hell, compared to Great Notion's usual IPAs, this one is almost straw-colored. Each quadrant should be examined systematically. The uterus should be divided into four quadrants to assess amniotic fluid index. Many cases of polyhydramnios are idiopathic, meaning no definite cause is identified. In these cases, it may be associated with fetal macrosomia. Increased amniotic fluid production occurs as a result of fetal polyuria, such as in uncontrolled maternal diabetes with persistently elevated maternal blood sugars. This can occur due to gastrointestinal malformations, fetal neurologic problems such as anencephaly, or mechanical obstruction of the esophagus by other intrathoracic processes. If the fetus is unable to swallow the typical amounts of amniotic fluid, this can lead to polyhydramnios. The normal fetus is constantly swallowing amniotic fluid and urinating to create more fluid. Oligohydramnios can also occur because the patient's amniotic membrane has ruptured and amniotic fluid is leaking out of the uterus. Therefore, decreased amniotic fluid volume due to decreased urine production by the fetal kidney is a reflection of chronic hypoperfusion of the fetus. When the fetus receives inadequate nutrients and oxygen from the placenta, blood is shunted away from the fetal kidney, glomerular filtration rate decreases, and urinary output decreases. It is the same mechanism that causes oliguria in critically ill adults. Decreased urine production by the fetal kidney typically reflects inadequate blood flow to the fetal kidney, caused by shunting of fetal blood flow away from the kidney to the heart and brain. Urinary tract obstruction can occur anywhere along the fetal urinary tract and can be catastrophic for the fetus. Decreased fetal urine output can have a number of causes, which fall into two general categories: fetal urinary tract obstruction and decreased urine production by the fetal kidney. The great thing about this tater tot casserole is that it’s just as good, if not better, left over! I actually enjoyed it even more the next day.
